  • Hike to the summit of the Rothorn mountain.
  • Admire the beauty of the Swiss Alps.

Description

The Unterrothorn mountain (3,104m), or just Rothorn for short, is a beautiful peak in the Pennine Alps of Switzerland. And on this day long trek, I would like to take you on a journey to its summit, while also exploring the beautiful area around it.

This trek will last approximately 7.5 hours. It includes an ascent and descent of approximately 1,480 meters and will cover a distance of approximately 13.5 kilometers. Thus making the at times challenging hike an extensive journey through the Alps of Switzerland. However, you can be sure the views you will get, particularly from the Rothorn peak, will make the journey well worth it.

Our adventure will begin in the beautiful and famous resort town of Zermatt. From there, we will make our way through meadows and forests to Tuftern. After that, the terrain will get more rocky as we approach the Ritzen ridge, which we will follow up to Rothorn. After you’ve enjoyed great views from the mountain, we will then make our way back down to Blauherd. On the final stretch of the hike, we will go to Leisee and Findeln before returning to Zermatt.

Throughout the trek, you will get to see what makes the area around Zermatt so beautiful. From the array of mountain huts to the abundance of sky scraping peaks, you will see why the Swiss Alps are so popular.

To join me on this trek, all you have to do is send me a request. I look forward to hearing from you and guiding you.

What people are saying about ES Adventure Guides

Peter

This was a great trip and Explore Share made finding the right trip super easy. Our guide was personable, extremely knowledgeable, and experienced and willing to teach us the skills we would have needed to climb the Matterhorn. Unfortunatly, the conditions were not right to climb so our guide recemmended another trip which was still a great experience and lots of fun.

Emma

Very user friendly platform with timely responses from Explore Share representatives. The trip itself with Tom from Alps Adventures was awesome and ensure that we had an experience that was 100% what we wanted. Recommend both the platform and the guide. Thanks to all for arranging and delivering so well.

I had am amazing time during the 1-day off-piste training course at Hoch-Ybrig. Urs, our main mountain guide, was very helpful in answering my queries before the course, and Lupe from explore-share was helpful in selecting the course. We had 3 groups under Urs, Mario and Patrick, and I was in the group with Patrick. He gave us a lot of nice tips and individualized video analysis. He made a special effort to convey everything in English, since I don't know German. All the participants were very helpful and friendly too! The course is good value for money as skis are included for the weekend in the course price.
