Description

Return to your younger years and feel the magic of a winter hiking and sledding tour in Slovenia! Bring your family or bring yourself and let a certified guide take care of logistics while you hike through the delightful terrain of the Karawanks and the Alps!

Bled is a well-known hot spot for its culture and its terrain, beckoning tourists and adventurers from across the globe. Its forested surroundings, the infamous Lake Bled and Bled Castle, and its reach into the Southern Limestone Alps have helped promote its reputation as a bucket-list destination. Even into winter, snow trekking and hiking are popular and offer a plethora of associated activities.

This is where you come in! Spend a few hours hiking into the immaculate winter landscape before jumping on a sledge and cruising back down. This unique program will give you an exciting and carefree opportunity to see northwest Slovenia like never before. I will take care of the equipment and the transport – you simply need to dress the part and prepare yourself for an unforgettable afternoon on the slopes.

Depending on the weather, I will set up your transportation from the surrounding area to our starting point. From there, we will start our journey into the foothills, embarking on a manageable journey that is fun and doable for all ages and family members. The forests, plateaus, and pastures are straight out of a fairy tale, instilling the innocence and wonder we’ve been searching for since we were kids.

Add a level of enchantment and try sledding by moonlight! It comes with all of the same charm and splendor as a day trip, but it includes moonlight bouncing off of the snow as you make your way down the hills under the stars. A truly special experience that happens but once in a lifetime.

This trip is open to anyone and everyone, and I highly recommend bringing family and friends on this program. It blends an enjoyable and non-taxing hike with a youthful burst into childhood by safely sledding back to reality. This dreamy program is sure to please big and little kids alike.

Book this great hiking and sledding program in Slovenia NOW and take a few hours to remember what it is like to be worry-free in the storybook setting of snowy Bled!

We can also focus on the hike by taking a day trek into the Julian Alps near Triglav!

Mountain Guide

I’m a certified IFMGA mountain guide and canyoning guide living in the small and famous town of Bled, in Slovenia.

I started rock climbing at the age of 5. From that time on, the mountains became my playground. During my childhood, I took part in many rock climbing competitions. When I was 12, my twin brother and I did our first multi-pitch climb on a 350 m wall.

By the age of 16, I started competing in ice climbing world cups and later on skydiving junior world cups. In fact, in 2008 I became the world champion at the UIAA Ice Climbing Overall Ranking in speed ice climbing.

I climbed in many different countries like Peru, South Korea, Switzerland, France and Italy. However, Slovenia is the place I like the most.

Among other significant achievements, I did the first winter ascent (from the bottom of the wall) in Sphinx, the most difficult route in the mythical North Face of Mt Triglav. Besides, I got the first place for males at the IFMGA International mountain guide climbing championship in 2017.

I like sharing moments with people, especially in mountains. Feel free to join me in the highest mountains, steepest walls and many other Alpine wonders. I’m flexible, so we can also research places in other countries worldwide. Deep canyons, emerald rivers, beautiful mountains, great people, a good laugh, you name it.

I look forward to meeting you!

Brittany

This hike was a highlight of our trip! Matevz was an amazing guide. The one day hike up Mount Triglav was more challenging than we expected. Matevz is very experienced, which made us felt safe during the via ferrate section. He was patient and encouraging of us the entire way.

Vasu

I had a very nice experience with explore-share. They were able to answer any questions I had about the trek like reaching the trailhead or equipment, etc. They also responded really fast. Matevz was also an amazing guide, helping us with the route when took a wrong route to the hut and was very clear and honest in his communication. He also ensured that we maintained a good pace to the summit without being too pushy.

Thor

We had an amazing time climbing with Matevz near Bled! He took us to his hometown crag and found us several routes that suited our skill level. Strongly recommended.
