On the first day, we’ll transfer from the Sofia Airport to the Malyovitsa area and sleep in a family guesthouse. On the second day, we’ll hike for three hours to a spot between the peaks of Malyovitsa (2,729 meters) and Orleto (2,575 meters). From there, we’ll climb to the peak of Malyovitsa and hike our way down to the guesthouse. On the third day, we’ll hike to the approach zone of our next ice climb in Rila. We’ll enjoy some ice climbing for 3 hours and hike to where our transfer will be waiting to take us back to the airport.
Rila National Park is Bulgaria’s largest national park. It is home to Bulgaria’s highest mountain, Musala, glacial lakes, rivers, endangered wildlife species and impressive views. It is a popular spot for hiking and skiing. The proposed itinerary may change due to weather conditions or group preferences.

I was born in the town of Lovech, Bulgaria, and inherited my father’s passion for the mountains and started climbing at an early age. Gradually, alpinism turned into my way of life and I graduated from the National Sports Academy, specializing in Tourism and Alpinism.
I've been an active athlete for many years and have won the Alpinism National Championship multiple times and the Bulgarian Climbing & Alpinism Federation Annual Award 3 times.
I have done numerous ascents in the Alps, the Himalayas and the Andes and I am the founder of the Alpinism & Climbing School, which has considerably contributed to the Bulgarian mountaineering and climbing culture.
I am also a member of the Governing Board of the Bulgarian Climbing & Alpinism Federation a certified mountain guide, and a climbing and ski instructor with numerous first ascents in Bulgaria and worldwide.

Didn’t end up making it in the end due to high avalanche risk but we want as far as we could and the views were spectacular! The guide always had my safety first and reminded me the mountain isn’t going anywhere. Will return to get to the top next time for sure!
