Sella Nevea (1195m) is a mountain pass in the Julian Alps, in northeastern Italy.
In this occasion, I propose to you a 2-day winter climbing course in Sella Nevea. During the course, you will get to know the environment and learn about the dangers to be safe. We will of course do some climbs, in general medium difficulty ones. My main goal is for you to learn how to progress in all safety.
One of the most intense mountain experiences is achieved by venturing into the frozen walls during the winter. Winter climbing, or ice climbing, is full of unforgettable moments. The intense emotions will stay with you forever.
Of course, proper training and learning how to use the equipment is essential.
Tempted to learn ice climbing in a truly stunning environment? Then don’t hesitate to send me a request and book this trip! This is a discipline I particularly enjoy teaching my clients. Another great option is this ice climbing course in Val Aurina, also in Italy. Check it out!
We meet at 7:30AM at Sella Nevea’s cablecar. We check the equipment and climb to Sella Bila Pec on foot. We will learn how to use the equipment (crampons, rope progression, building anchors…).
We will return to the hut to spend the night. In the evening, we will have some safety lessons.
We will climb the east ridge of the Golvec. This can take the whole day, depending on the conditions. We will descend following the climbing route.

poor weather limited the experience. We had hoped for a guide more familiar with the area, our first and last night were in a remote place requiring an hours walk. We only learnt about this on the day of departure. otherwise no problems
Stay up-to-date on the best adventures.
