Climbing Mt Triglav during the winter season is an incredible experience only reserved for a few. Come with me for a challenging 2-day ascent!
Mount Triglav (2864 m) is the highest peak in Slovenia and also the greatest symbol of the country. It lies inside Triglav National Park, at the heart of the beautiful Julian Alps.
This peak attracts many climbers during spring and summer. However, this time I invite you to join me on a more demanding winter ascent.
Our starting point will be Krma Valley. From there, a strenuous hike (between 5 and 7 hours) will lead us to Kredarica hut.
The hut will be our shelter for the night as well as the place that will provide us food and drink.
The following day, we'll start hiking right after breakfast. We'll first climb Mali Triglav (the smallest peak, also known as Little Triglav) and then approach the main summit. On the top we'll find the famous monument Aljaž Turret.
Finally, a quite difficult hike will bring us back to Krma Valley by the afternoon.
Are you ready for a winter adventure in the most popular peak in Slovenia? Please, contact me so we can start planning this trip together!
In case you're staying longer, you can't miss this 6-day winter mountaineering and alpine climbing course in the Julian Alps (it also includes climbing Triglav).
The tour starts in the Krma Valley, from where Kredarica is reached in 5.5-7 hours. The hut will provide well-deserved food, drink and shelter.
After breakfast, we’ll climb Mali (Little) Triglav, from where an attractive ridge will take us to the main summit with its famous Aljaž Turret. We’ll return to the Krma Valley in the late afternoon hours.
Mountain Guide
I am a Slovenian IFMGA mountain guide with the ZGVS.
It was when I was 12 years old that I first climbed a mountain myself and by the age of 15 I had started rock climbing.
Since then, my ascents count up to around 1000, starting from Mont Blanc in the seventies and Triglav north face to Cho Oyu, and all over South America including 18 of the 6000m+ peaks including a first ascent on south face of Aconcagua.
I have climbed and travelled all over the world, Shivlinga, K2, Mt Everest, Manaslu, Shishi Panama, El Cap and sport climbing in Kalymnos and Cuba.
Skiing powder in great conditions and rock climbing under the sun are my motto!
Contact me if you'd like to have fun safely in the mountains with me! If I am unavailable then my trusted friend guides, Franc and Milan, can take care of you!

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

Explore-Share was excellent in arranging everything for our day climb. The communication was quick, and the platform was easy to use, making our adventure stress-free.

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
