Description

This day of whitewater rafting I will guide you through promises to be one of the most electric, fun, exciting and enjoyable days imaginable, as we wind our way along the magnificent Tully River in the Tully Gorge National Park near Cairns, splashing through over 45 rapids of varying difficulty whilst admiring the tropical rainforest scenery around us, and also take the opportunity to jump from rock formations in to the tropical water below.

Tully Gorge National Park is located in the North of the Australian state of Queensland, approximately 140km from the city of Cairns. The park is full of dramatic coastal mountains, beautiful streams and sugarcane fields, and is dominated by its World Heritage-listed rainforest.

We meet in either Cairns or Mission Beach, depending on where your accommodation is, and from there we drive to the park via the backdrop of the vast sugarcane fields and mountains the region is known for.

Once at the park we then go through all relevant safety gear and information, before tackling the river in earnest.

Over the course of the 5 adrenaline-pumping hours we will spend rafting, myself and other guides will help safely move the rafts over the rapids, as some of them can be quite challenging.

Highlights include the rapids named the Alarm Clock, Wet and Moisty, Stair Case and Theatre, each providing their own distinct and exhilarating characteristics.

During the rafting we encourage everyone to take a look around at the tranquil and idyllic rainforest that lines the rivers banks, as it is truly a special and unique part of Australia.

We finish our day by relaxing at a nearby waterfall, offering the chance to jump from rocks in to the clear water below and to reflect on the epic and awesome rafting we have just indulged in.

This is one of the funnest and most enjoyable activities one can do close to Cairns – book now to experience the thrill!

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

We had Léo as a guide for our day climb in Fonty. We were blessed with a knowledgeable, warm, and instructive guide. Communication with Léo and Ivan was smooth and swift. Explore-Share was excellent in arranging everything for our day climb. The communication was quick, and the platform was easy to use, making our adventure stress-free.

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
