This 7-day tour is an amazing mix of cultural tours and day hikes. Here, you will experience Bhutan’s unique culture, its stunning natural beauty, and spiritual vibe.
You will be visiting some of the greatest Dzongs (fortresses) and several other monasteries all while enjoying breathtaking views of the gorgeous mountains and lush valleys. Dzongs, or fortresses, are Bhutanese architectural marvels which serve several purposes. Besides acting as administrative centers and homes for monks, the Dzong courtyards serve as popular celebration spots where people gather during festivities.
We will begin this hiking tour in Paro and continue towards the cities of Thimpu and Punakha. Tango and Cheri Goembas, Lungchutse Monastery and the famous Tiger’s Nest are few of the several attractions we will see along the way. You will be filled with unforgettable memories of Bhutan’s unique heritage as you hike.

Not sure what to do when you arrive in Bhutan for the first time? We have designed a “first-timers” trip in Bhutan just for you!
Once you arrive, our guide will pick you up at the airport and transfer you to the Hotel. After a delicious meal, we will visit the administrative center of Paro – The Rinpung Dzong which was built in 1646. Next, we will take a tour around the oldest temple in the country, Kichu Lhakhang. Next on the list is Drugyal Dzong which was built in 1646 to honor Bhutan’s victory over Tibetan invaders.
Overnight at Hotel.
After a hearty breakfast, we will drive to the National Museum. Next, we will hike for about 20 minutes to reach Zuri Dzong. The site offers spectacular views of the Paro valley. Make sure not to forget taking beautiful pictures of the Paro Airport, Rinpung Dzong and the soaring mountains.
Overnight at Hotel
We will visit the Tango Goemba today. It only takes around half an hour to reach Tango. After that, we will hike to the temple of the “Divine Madman” which is a historic site and a center of study for monks. The site promises astounding views of the Thimpu valley. One might even spot mountain goats en route.
Next, we will drive back to Thimphu and visit the King’s Memorial Chorten and the majestic
TashichhoDzong.
Overnight at Hotel
Today we head towards Dochula pass (3,100 meters). The pass offers some of the best views of the Himalayas. Next, we will begin our 2-hour hike to Lungchutse Monastery. We make our way through rhododendron, fir, and hemlock forests forest and walk along the high ridges decorated with colorful Buddhist prayer flags. You will witness some of the most amazing views of the Himalayas along with incredible views of the valleys below. We then trace our steps to Dochula.
Overnight in Punakha.
Today we will visit Punakha Dzong, which is famous for being one of the most beautiful Dzongs in Bhutan. After that, we will travel to Chimi Lhakhang which is also known as the temple dedicated to the Divine Madman or Lama Drukpa Kuenley. We then make our way to Paro.
Overnight at Hotel
Today we will start early for a hike to Paro Taktsang or the Tiger’s Nest. Paro Taktsang is a significant Buddhist sacred site in Bhutan. It is located on a cliff side on the upper Paro valley. After the visit, we will head back to the hotel.
