Description

The best place to learn how to properly climb mountains is in the mountains. And on this 2 day seminar in the Wasatch mountains of Utah, we would like to teach you the skills necessary for future climbs. So if you have ambitions to scale mountains like Denali (6,190m) or Rainier (4,392m), or perhaps even Aconcagua (6,962m), this seminar is for you.

Along with being stunning to admire, the Wasatch mountains offer some great climbs. As a result, you will get to enjoy yourself as you climb, while learning how to improve your climbing skills.

A lot will be covered during this seminar. We will go over route selection, pace and travel protocols for avalanche terrain. We will also teach you how to properly climb on skis or snowshoes while carrying a heavy load. Other skills you will learn include how to establish a winter camp using dead man anchors and snow walls.

Along with learning new skills you may not already have, we will also review the ones you do. Examples include how to properly use crampons and an ice axe, and how to self arrest. Crevasse rescue is also on the agenda, as is how to melt snow for water and how to stay warm and comfortable in an alpine environment.

During this seminar, you will put all you have learned and reviewed into practice in the mountains as you get to climb one of the range’s peaks.

Do you want to improve your climbing skills, while learning some new ones in a beautiful mountain range? Then send us a request and join us for a 2 day seminar in the Wasatch mountains.
