Get ready for an unforgettable experience ascending the French Pyrenees’ highest peak, the Vignemale. At an altitude of 3,298 meters, we will reach this impressive summit in a day, no prior experience necessary. Join me for an unbelievable adventure!
We’ll begin with an easy walk along the GR10 to get used to the altitude and pace. This will give us the chance to enjoy an unforgettable sunrise at the gap between Roland, Taillon and Marboré. After climbing to Ossoue, we’ll reach the Bellevue caves. Then, we’ll reach the Ossoue Glacier and use crampons to cross it and reach the Vignemale peak. We then begin our descent.
Even though you don’t need to have previous mountaineering experience for this ascent, you do need to be physically fit for it. The route presents an altitude difference of 1,500 meters and the path is not always smooth. One of the best things about this trip is that you’ll be able to experience many aspects of mountaineering such as rock climbing and walking on glaciers.
So join me for a unique adventure in the French Pyrenees. I would love to be your guide.
For more mountaineering experiences in the area, join me to ascend the Aneto and/or the Pic du Midi d’Ossau.
Begin your adventure with a gentle introduction on the GR10 trail, acclimatizing to the altitude in the iconic Roland, Taillon, and Marboré peaks. Challenge yourself with the ascent to Ossoue, exploring the fascinating Bellevue caves before donning crampons to traverse the Ossoue Glacier and reach the summit of Vignemale.
