FAQs

I'm alone, can I join a group?

Unfortunately, I'm guiding only private people or groups. The experience gets much better/safer when it's held privately.

What's included in the price?

My guiding fee and the via ferrata equipment are included in the price of this via ferrata tour.

The via ferrata equipment includes the harness, the helmet and the lanyards with two carabiners attached.

How soon should I book?

Summer in the Dolomites is very busy. The sooner you book, the better.

How experienced do I need to be to climb the via ferrata of Punta Fiames? Is it accessible to Children?

You don't necessarily need rock climbing experience, but you need to be fit and not to be afraid of height. Of course, it's much better if you are a climber.

This via ferrata can be climbed by children but, as explained above, they need to be fit and ok with height. If you are with kids, I recommend you to do "Cascate di Fanes", you'll find the details here https://www.explore-share.com/trip/cascate-di-fanes-via-ferrata-cortina/.

Where and at what time will we meet?

The meeting point is at Hotel Fiames. You'll find the point on the map here, https://goo.gl/maps/oE1dbPPzXDHcv4P48.

We'll meet around 8.30 am.

When is the via ferrata of Punta Fiames accessible?

We usually climb it from beginning of June till mid of October.

How long does the via ferrate of Punta Fiames take?

The Punta Anna via ferrata adventure takes around 7 hours.

  • 1.30 hours to hike to the start of the via ferrata
  • 3 to 4 hours to do the via ferrata
  • 2 hours to hike down

How many people can you take with you on this via ferrata?

To ensure safety, I typically limit my group size to a maximum of 4 or 5 individuals. If you have a larger group, I will arrange for one of my colleagues to join us.

What do I need to bring with me?

You need to wear normal mountain hiking clothes adapted to the weather and the temperature. The most important items are the shoes (hiking/approach shoes/boots) and the jacket (protecting you against the wind, the rain, and the cold).

Please take also with you a backpack with water and food/snacks.

I'll bring you the via ferrata equipment (included in the price):

  • a harness
  • a helmet
  • lanyards with two carabiners attached

Mountain Guide

I started my career as an aerospace engineer, my first passion and then became a full-time IFMGA mountain guide, my second passion, since 2013. Working as a mountain guide gratifies me a lot. I enjoy very much transmitting my knowledge about the mountains and its activities to my friends and clients.

I’m based in the Dolomites where I have climbed most of the mountain surroundings us here, including “Via attraverso il Pesce” in Marmolada and “Captain sky-hook” in Civetta. I also enjoy a lot guiding in the rest of the Alps, ice climbing, ski touring, freeride skiing, rock climbing and mountaineering.

Feel free to contact me if you want to live a great adventure in the Dolomites or anywhere else in the Alps, during the winter or the summer. It will be a great pleasure for me to guide you and allow you to reach your goal. I work with other mountain guides in the Veneto area, such as Filippo, Massimo, and my brother Daniele. If I am unavailable on the date you are interested in coming climbing, skiing, or engaging in other activities with me, I can connect you with one of them.
