Would you like to go on a unique via ferrata adventure in Spain? Then join us on this 1-day program to “El Chorro” near Ardales in Malaga!

Ardales is a stunning town in Malaga famous for its historic church and castle ruins. Nearby is the renowned Caminito del Rey, a walkway along a narrow gorge near “El Chorro”, a small village that is popular amongst rock climbers. In this region, we will find the stunning Via Ferrata “El Chorro”, where our adventure will take place.

This breathtaking spot is well equipped and features a Tibetan bridge, a zipline over 30m long, and an optional rappel. It is a moderately difficult via ferrata, but well worth the effort. Furthermore, for every four people there will be a guide, following the recommendation of the Andalusian Association of Mountain Guides. Please keep in mind that in order to join, participants must be at least 16 years old.

At what time we’ll we meet?

We normally meet between 9:00 and 10:00. This will be confirmed after booking. The via Ferrata takes about four hours.

The via Ferrata takes about four hours.

What clothing/equipment should we bring?

You’ll need to take mountain clothes and shoes, but it is also ok with normal sport clothes and shoes. Please bring a backpack with some water and a snack.

How can I join the meeting point coming from Malaga?

It is possible to travel from Málaga to El Chorro by train. It is cheap and you can go back to Málaga the same day.

How fit and experienced do I need to be to do the via ferrata at El Chorro?

You don't necessarily need previous Vía Ferrata experience. But you must be fit and able to cope with walking on rocky surfaces, doing some vertical climbing, hanging on bridges, etc.
