FAQs

What is the best time of the year for this via ferrata?

The best season is the one you can come, but if you can choose, spring and autumn are the best. Les Dames via ferrata is a south-face route, so we can do it on sunny days in winter, and during summer we can do it starting early to avoid the hottest time of the day.

How can I get to the meeting point?

If you have your own car, I’ll send you the location. If you are coming with public transportation, I’ll pick you up at the closest train station. Arriving from Barcelona is very easy and cheap.

Can I join a group?

No, I’m sorry, I do only private trips

What kind of previous experience and training do I need? Is this trip suitable for beginners?

You don't need any previous experience to do this activity, but it is better to be fit enough to enjoy this experience. Les Dames is a challenging via ferrata, so it's important that you exercise regularly to enjoy it.

Mountain Guide

Right in the heart of Catalonia, well connected with Barcelona, stands the Montserrat massif; a mountain with big natural, cultural and spiritual significance that rises sharply to 1,236 meters from the top of St. Jeroni.

I organize guided activities and courses of all levels, and offer the possibility to discover this fantastic mountain accompanied by a professional certified guide.

Along with all these activities in Montserrat, I can guide you over all the natural sites of Catalonia and the Pyrenees, a region with a wide range of possibilities for trekkers, hikers, climbers, etc.

I promote the use of sustainable transportation (train, zipper, funicular) and the development of activities that stimulate in participants a feeling of belonging to the places he or she visits. This perception of belonging, as we work with feelings and perceptions, can perfectly be assimilated to a sense of spirituality.

Our main activities are:
Spiritual values of Nature for private, groups or companies
Rock climbing
Hiking
Via Ferrata

Dan

Cesc was unable to guide us so hooked us up with his friend Gerard who was fantastic! The whole thing was seamless: - we got great advice on what train to get - we were met by a taxi at the station to take us to the start point - Gerard set us up with safety gear then took us hiking to the start of the Via Ferrata - Gerard was patient, helpful, and professional. Also just a really nice guy. - The climbing itself was _terrifying_ but so so satisfying when we got to the top! Big recommend, great fun, worth every penny.

My husband and I visited Spain in August and made sure to add a via ferratta to our 'to do' list. Franscec was a wonderful guide. We loved his geology knowledge (we're both geoloigsts), as well as his knowledge about the flora and fauna. The trip was fun, but we would have loved to have gone on a longer trip. Next time! We highly recommend this trip to anyone who is looking for a fun outside adventure.

Both Explore-Share and Francesc gave us exactly the info we needed in a very short time, due to our program in Barcelona and around. There were no delays of any kind in our collaboration with both of them.
