Description

The Wasatch mountains just outside of Salt Lake City in Utah are a fantastic collection of peaks. They are also an excellent place to enjoy a number of winter activities like splitboarding.

We will teach you all we can about how to properly and safely splitboard. First will provide you with a thorough tutorial. We will instruct you about many things. A few examples include the following:

The setting up and use of splitboards
How to fit climbing skins
The equipment and logistics of splitboarding
How to set stance angles
Avalanche safety
How to properly attach bindings to boards
How to change over between modes

Then you’ll put what you learned into practice in the Wasatch mountains, where we will continue to instruct you. As a result, you will get to use the techniques we teach you right there on the slopes. A few examples of those techniques include safe-travel protocols on avalanche prone terrain, route finding, and how to ascend on skins.

Based in the Wasatch Range near Salt Lake and Park City since 1993, Utah Mountain Adventures (UMA) is the premier full-spectrum, year-round guide service in Utah.

Programs include backcountry skiing, split-snowboarding, rock climbing, ice climbing, avalanche instruction, summer and winter mountaineering, trekking (hiking and snowshoeing) and canyoneering skills.

Led by Julie Faure and Tyson Bradley, UMA (formerly Exum Utah Mountain Adventures) operates under a permit issued by the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest.
