Join me on a day hike one of the more pristine and remote places in the world. We'll have the chance to visit native forests, peat bogs, glaciers and valleys along with astounding views from some of the summits surrounding Beagle Channel.
The trek to Ojo del Albino Glacier covers a round trip of 18 kilometers and involves an elevation gain of 800 meters, requiring approximately 8 hours to complete.
Be ready to navigate through uneven terrain, scree slopes, mud, and occasionally snowy patches.Discover the area alongside local guides and avoid larger groups where you could end up hurrying to capture photos.
Enjoy the freedom to choose your day based on the weather forecast. Patagonia's climate is ever-shifting, making it challenging to pinpoint the precise date for your hiking expedition.

What is the average distance and altitude gain that we will hike each day?
We'll hike around 15 to 20 km per day and 800 mt of elevation gain.
What experience do I need to have? How fit do I need to be? Is this program suitable for children or older people?
You need to be used to walking long distances in the outdoors. This program is not suitable for children.
How can I get to the trailhead/meeting point?
We'll pick you up at your hotel!
How will accommodation and meals be handled during the trek?
We'll provide you with a lunch box and snacks for the hike.
Are there any other special requirements such as permits/insurance/vaccines that I need to consider before the tour?
Everything is covered for you, from permits to insurance. Just don't forget your camera!
What is the best time of the year for this hike?
Southern Patagonia is famous for its winds and cloudy weather but in Tierra del Fuego, we get the best days in November and December.
Can I join a group?
Of course, just let me know the dates you'll be in town and I'll try to match you with a group.
What happens in the event of bad weather?
We'll try to reschedule the outing so that you can have the best experience possible.
Does the hike take place in Tierra del Fuego National Park?
No, it doesn't. Tierra del Fuego National Park is just a small part of the region. Most trails take place at Tierra Mayor Provincial Reserve, which is at the east of Ushuaia through road N°3.
What gear do I need?
Tierra del Fuego's weather can be unpredictable, so you need to be prepared for everything. It's pretty usual to start the day with rain, have lunch in the sun, and get back to the car chase by the famous Patagonian winds.
Good high heels hiking boots are mandatory, a rain jacket and pants, a puffy jacket, and gloves come in handy even in the summer.

If you’re Ip for adventure this tour is for you. An incredible hike and great tour guide. Very knowledge and kept us safe the whole time. Absolutely would recommend! He even helped us rearrange the day so the weather was perfect for us and made the day so much more beautiful. A true highlight of our stay in ushuaia!

We had a wonderful time on this hike, especially thanks to Facundo. He was amazing - easily 5 stars! I should start by saying we are not very experienced hikers but he made it a lot easier on us. He was very informative and knowledgeable about the area itself and the history of the region. There were no problems with communication as his English is excellent (he also speaks Portuguese). Prior to going he provided a detailed list of supplies that would be needed and provided the items we lacked such as crampons and hiking poles. He even brought lunch (and snacks) which was a welcome reward for making it to the glacier! He was considerate of us with both the pacing and the route. We can’t say enough just how much fun we had and would 100% recommend Facundo to anyone considering a guide. Ojo Del Albino was the highlight of our trip to Ushuaia. THANK YOU Facundo for making this experience so enjoyable!

We did a 2 days hike with Facundo, passing the mountain pass Paso Beban. It was a very good experience, he was very helpful, and has a lot of knowledge. I can strongly recommend an adventure with Facu.
