Cordillera Blanca

21 Days

Jun - Aug

Description

Lets conquer 3 amazing peaks of the Cordillera Blanca in the same expedition! One of them, the Huascaran, is the highest mountain of Peru.

It’s my pleasure to invite you to this 21-day mountaineering tour, reaching the highest points of the Cordillera Blanca. During this program, I will help you reach the summits of Urus, Ishinca and Huascaran!

The Ishinca is a popular destination among those climbers in search of a 6000-meter peak. During the ascent we will have the best views of the Ishinca, Urus, Tocllaraju, Ranrapalco and Palcarajus mountains.

Regarding the Urus peak, it is a perfect mountain for an acclimatization before a bigger goal. It’s more a trekking peak than a real climb. Its normal ascent route goes bordering a small glacier. From its summit you’ll enjoy the most outstanding landscapes. From the Ishinca base camp we can reach this peak as well as many others like the Tocllaraju and the Ranrapalca.

Finally, the Huascaran mountain has two summits: the North and South Huascarán. It is the dream of many climbers since it’s the highest peak of the country and its ascent is not difficult. However, the risk of avalanches makes it a serious climb. The mountain offers several routes to reach the summit. In any case, all participants must have a prior acclimatization.

This triple expedition can be done from June to August, during the driest season of Peru. I can lead groups of no more than 12 guests. Remember all participants must have a perfect fitness level as well as some prior summit experience.

If you want to know more details, please have a look to the sample itinerary at the end of this description. It’s just and example and will vary according to the group level and expectations.

What people are saying about Peru

He was very kind, patient and helped me to reach my goal the citadel of Machupicchu. One day I wanted to quit but he encouraged me to continue and waited for my step.

We did the MTB-Huarascan-Circuit (Crossing Punta Olimpica Pass and Portachuelo de Llanganuco Pass) with Eric Albinos „Peru Expedition“. All, the transfers, the hotel stays, the acclimatization tours and the circuit itself, was well organized. Eric and his staff were flexible to our wishes and very helpful. Our Guide Joni is an excellent mountain bike-guide and good tailor too if something is torn. The cook prepared delicious meals during the circuit. The camping equipment was in very good condition. We (Karin, Franz. Wolfgang) can fully recommend „Eric´s Peru Expeditions“.

The agency gave me a guide Darwin, not Juventino. Climb was good, easy just walking. There is one dangerous section near the moraine area with very loose gravel. So make sure you don't slip there or you are dead. I stayed in refugio at the base camp which was much more comfy than camping. Darwin was good but give clients some breaks once in a while, not rush too much. It's a high altitude climbing after all.

5 star guide. Nothing but the best.
