  • Classic route in the Allgäu Alps
  • Amazing rock climb and scramble
  • From the summit, you will have a stunning view over the surrounding mountains

Description

The Trettachspitze is one of the most famous mountaineering destinations in the Allgäu Alps. With a stunning view over the whole mountain range, it’s a first class adventure you don’t want to miss!

Often compared to the Swiss Matterhorn, the Trettachspitze rises steeply above Oberstdorf. Crossing the Trettachspitze is a true classic in the Allgäu, which, should not be underestimated.

This mountain of 2,595 meters is considered the Matterhorn of the Allgäu and requires scrambling up to 3rd grade. During this privately guided trip, we will complete the ascent in 2 days, sleeping at Waltenberger Haus, a beautiful mountain hut.

During the first day of the trip, we will reach the Fellhorn car park and embark on an independent ascent through Einödsbach to the Waltenberger Haus. Enjoy a scenic hike from Einödsbach through the Bacher Loch.

The following day, we will pick you up from the Waltenberger Haus in the morning. Shortly after the hut, we will follow an alpine trail that takes us below Hochfrottspitze and Mädelegabel to the Märchenwiese. From there, the trail becomes notably rockier as we ascend more steeply towards the beginning of the climbing excursion on the northwest ridge of the Trettachspitze. We will ascend via this route to the summit, with a maximum difficulty level of III UIAA.

For the descent, we will use the northeast ridge with a short rope and then rappel back onto the trail. Following this, we will return via the same path, continuing towards the Wildengundkopf. This will lead us down over steep meadows to Einödsbach and back to the parking lot at Fellhorn.

Alternatively, we offer the   Trettachspitze as a day tour as well. This requires excellent fitness, maintaining a speed of approximately 400 meters of ascent per hour, and a tour duration of up to 9 hours. If you prefer a more leisurely experience, the presented variant here is a preferable option.

The trip requires a good endurance and some experience in scrambling, but no other technical skills.

Book now and we will spend a memorable 2 days together as we climb Trettachspitze, a lovely mountain in the Allgäu Alps!

Itinerary

Day 1: Waltenberg House climb

Independent climb to the Waltenberg House

Arrival at the Fellhorn car park and independent climb via Einödsbach to the Waltenberger Haus. Beautiful hike from Einödsbach through the Bacher Loch.

Day 2: Crossing the Trettachspitze

Your mountain guide will pick you up at the Waltenberger Haus in the morning. Shortly after the hut we follow an alpine path that leads us below Hochfrottspitze and Mädelegabel to the Märchenwiese.

From there the path becomes significantly rockier and we climb steeper to the start of the climbing tour on the northwest ridge of the Trettachspitze. Via this up to the summit, with a maximum difficulty level of III UIAA. We descend over the northeast ridge on the short rope and finally rappel back onto the path. Lest we go down the same path,

we follow the path to the Wildengundkopf. This leads us over steep meadows down to Einödsbach and back to the parking lot at Fellhorn.

OVERNIGHT STAY: The overnight stay at the Waltenberger Haus must be booked independently.

ALTERNATIVE: We also run the Trettachspitze as a day tour. The prerequisite for this is very good fitness with a speed of around 400hm/hour. and a tour duration of up to 9 hours.

If you like it a little more comfortable, the variant presented here is a better choice.

Mountain Guide

I'm a professional UIAGM mountain guide who works all over the world and has an addiction for traveling and working in many different places. I live in the southern part of Bavaria/Germany in a beautiful region called Allgäu. It's the perfect location to explore the Alps.

I work as a guide year-round and I love spending time with my clients in the mountains. Fulfilling their dreams and sharing beautiful moments together is what motivates me to do a great job every day.

I have spent a lot of time in the mountains since I was a kid. Mountaineering, climbing, ice climbing and running have always been a big part of my life and I hope to continue for many more years.

I was part of the German National Ski Mountaineering Team and have competed in all major global races, including Pierra Menta, PDG, Mezzalama, Tour du Rutor etc. I participated in many Worldcup races as well. This experience was very important for my guiding career in terms of motivation, knowledge and experience!

I guide my clients all over the world. I'll take you anywhere you want to go and we can reach a mountaineering goal together.

Please get in touch with me if you're interested in one of my programs or want to discuss a particular goal you have in the mountains. It will be a pleasure to make you an offer and discuss projects and plans for the future.

Hope to see YOU in the mountains.

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Maxine

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

We had Léo as a guide for our day climb in Fonty. We were blessed with a knowledgeable, warm, and instructive guide. Communication with Léo and Ivan was smooth and swift. Explore-Share was excellent in arranging everything for our day climb. The communication was quick, and the platform was easy to use, making our adventure stress-free.

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
