Meeting point
Our journey begins in Curry Village. Here, we’ll be introduced to our instructors and meet our fellow adventurers. After getting acquainted with our equipment and double-checking that all our gear is in order, we’ll embark on the Yosemite Falls Trail. As we trek, we’ll dive into the fascinating history of this magnificent landscape while admiring its breathtaking views.
Along the way, we’ll also hone essential backcountry techniques, like using a map and compass. We’ll round off the day by setting up camp and savoring a well-deserved, hearty meal beneath the stars.
We’ll start our day with a robust breakfast before setting off on an unforgettable hike to Eagle Peak, where the panoramic vistas provide a stunning showcase of Yosemite’s beauty. Our adventure continues to Yosemite Falls, where I’ll point out the prime photo spots and share intriguing historical insights about the area.
Later, our path leads us to North Dome, where we’ll enjoy a lunch break beneath the shade of towering ponderosa pines, all while taking in one of the most awe-inspiring views of Half Dome.
Post-lunch, you can choose to head back to camp for some rest or take a short detour to marvel at the remarkable Indian Rock Arch—ideal for catching the afternoon light.
We’ll conclude our day at the top of Snow Creek, where the gentle sounds of the creek provide a serene backdrop for an evening by the fire. With known bear activity in the area, we’ll also review safety measures, and if we’re lucky, we might even spot one on our way down!
Waking up to the calming sounds of Snow Creek, we’ll enjoy a warm breakfast before packing up our camp. Today’s journey takes us down the Snow Creek Trail, offering spectacular views of Tenaya Canyon and the High Sierra during our descent.
We’ll take moments along the way to pause, capture a few final photos, and reflect on the incredible adventure we’ve shared.
As we approach the valley floor, we’ll relish our last moments on the trail before wrapping up our journey back in Curry Village. This final leg is a chance to celebrate all that we’ve learned—from mastering backcountry skills to exploring Yosemite’s rich heritage.
