3-day trekking Cape Shiretoko, Hokkaido

3-day trekking Cape Shiretoko, Hokkaido | undefined

Join a JMGA mountain guide for a 3-day trekking along the coast line of the Shiretoko Cape, observing wild animals and birds!

Shiretoko range

3 Days

Jun - Aug

Description

This is a unique trekking experience in Hokkaido! A 3-day traverse along the coast line of Shiretoko Cape, surrounded by amazing wild life.

During this trip on the Shiretoko peninsula, you will have the opportunity of seeing local fishermen harvesting the famous Rausu Konbu (kelp). This seaweed is known as the best Konbu for preparing the essential “Dashi (broth)”, one of the critical ingredients of Japanese cuisine.

Furthermore, there’s a high chance of encountering fauna like wild bears and white-tailed sea eagles.

I believe this trekking is great for those looking for wild experiences in Japan, spending the nights in a tent and enjoying a beautiful scenery.

Please contact me if you want to join me for this 3-day adventure in the easternmost of Hokkaido. I will be glad to take you there!

What people are saying about Jun

Javier

Jun was amazing! He has a very deep understanding of where the good now is. After a few days of high temperatures, it was difficult to experience the famous "Japow", but he did! The 3 days we spent with him, he managed to find the good snow every time! He also knows the mountains very well, takes the good safety precautions, and is just a very pleasant person to have as a guide! Thanks a lot Jun!

Juan was an awesome guide. Experienced, good driver, good sense of humour. We have booked for next year.

Lulyna

Great 2 days with Jun Isiguro : first day off-pist and second day backcountry. As a family of 4 with different levels in fresh and deep snow and tree runs on telemark, we feel very at ease with Jun-San. Thanks to him, we now have great memories of our holidays in Hokkaido !

Nicola

Fantastic hike and great guide - highly recommended!
