There are many iconic sights to behold in the Everest region of the Himalayas in Nepal. And one of the most beautiful and memorable, is the Tengboche Monastery. This incredible structure, which has been rebuilt on 2 different occasions, making it quite the monument of persistence, rests at an altitude of 3,867 metres, and is amazing in many different ways. Not only is the structure itself gorgeous, but the views you can enjoy from it are breathtaking. You will be able to see several of the Himalayas’ most iconic peaks from the monastery, including Lhotse (8,516m), Nupstse (7,861m), Thamserku (6,623m), Ama Dablam (6,812m), and of course, the might Mount Everest (8,848m).
Despite the high altitudes reached during this 11 day trek, the route we will take is actually quite easy. Thus making this not only a wondrous adventure, but an accessible one as well.
Along with the Tengboche monastery, another highlight of this trip includes the legendary, and heart pounding, yet remarkably beautiful Kathmandu – Lukla and Lukla – Kathmandu flights. Even though the flights are only 40 minutes long, the experience of these flights will last much, much longer. You will also get to spend several days enjoying and exploring the city of Kathmandu as well. Also, throughout the journey up to and back down from the Tengboche monastery, you will also get to visit and spend a few days in Namche Bazaar. From here you will get to enjoy more incredible views of the vast Himalayas and the region’s spectacular landscape**,** while also having the opportunity to venture off to other smaller local villages.
Visiting the Tengboche monastery is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, but on this 11 day trek, we have organised a trip where you will get to see and experience even more than that. If you would like to join us, just send us a request, and we’ll be happy to guide you.
We can also lead you on one of the newest Nepalese hiking routes, the Tamang heritage trek, on this 17 day adventure.
After your arrival in Kathmandu, one of our representatives will pick you up and transfer you to your hotel B & B. Afterwards, we will have a brief meeting about the trips itinerary, and you will have the rest of the day to explore Kathmandu.
Today, you will have the chance to explore the city of Kathmandu, do some last minute shopping, and see the many sights it has to offer, from the Monkey temple to the Bouddha Nath and so much more. You will spend the night in a hotel B & B.
We will take a short, but incredibly scenic, and exciting, flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. Afterwards, we will trek for 3 hours to Phakding where we will spend the night in a full board lodging.
We will trek for approximately 5.5 hours to the Namche Bazaar, where we will spend the night in a full board lodging. The hike will involve some spectacular views of several peaks. We will also pass through small villages like Benkar.
Today, we will keep active, which will help the acclimatization process even more, but either exploring the Namche Bazaar area, or hiking to Thame or visiting Khunde. We will spend the night in an overnight full board lodging in Namche Bazaar.
We will hike for approximately 5.5 hours to the Tengboche Monastery, where you will have ample time to explore it, and enjoy the magnificent views it offers, before venturing to a nearby lodge where we will spend the night.
We will hike for approximately 6 back to Namche Bazaar, taking the same route we trekked on to get to the Tengboche Monastery. We will spend the night in a full board lodging in Namche Bazaar.
We will hike for approximately 6 hours to Lukla, where you will get to relax before resting for the night in a full board lodging.
We will enjoy yet another short, but spectacularly scenic, and exciting, flight, except this time it will be back to Kathmandu, where we will spend the night in a hotel B & B.
Today you will have another full day to explore the city of Kathmandu so you can see whatever you may have missed on the second day of the trip. Afterwards, we will have a farewell dinner, and you will spend your final night of the trip in a hotel B & B.

Our guide Dr Flemming was excellent. He went above and beyond what we expected. We felt very safe and well trained to practice our climbing. Location was perfect and even though rain had been forecasted, they worked with us to make sure we could climb safely.
