An incredible adventure on the Svalbard Islands awaits! Come with me on a ski touring trip to this remote Norwegian area and let’s venture into wonderful polar landscapes together.
The Svalbard Islands are an archipelago in northern Norway. Only 2500 people inhabit these islands. During this 9-day program, the Nordenlicht ship will be our home and will take us to explore the region’s incredible fauna. This special ship has a capacity for 30 passengers and will take us to discover the islands’ beautiful fjords and bays.
On a typical ski touring day, we will commence our tour at sea level. Then, we will ascend until we get amazing views of the surrounding Arctic landscapes. The descents will also be memorable! The skiing part of the trip, however, should be considered as a bonus. This expedition is in fact a cruise.
Aboard the ship, we will have the chance to see whales, seals, walruses, Arctic foxes, reindeers and plenty of birds. And certainly the magnificent polar bear, which is the islands’ symbol. Polar bear population in the area is currently at around 3000, according to estimates.
So, if you are in the mood for an unforgettable experience, join me on this sailing and ski touring trip to Svalbard. This trip is a once-in-a-lifetime experience!
Arrival in Norway. We will spend the first night in Oslo.
We will travel to Longyearbyen in order to settle in the Nordenlicht ship. After a safety and operational briefing, the cruise will begin.

We will go back from Longyearbyen to Oslo and then to the airport for you to fly back home.

poor weather limited the experience. We had hoped for a guide more familiar with the area, our first and last night were in a remote place requiring an hours walk. We only learnt about this on the day of departure. otherwise no problems
Stay up-to-date on the best adventures.
