Description

Suchá Belá is the most famous gorge in the Slovak Paradise. There are many walkways, ladders, chains and bridges that make this gorge accessible for a trek. Join me for a day in this fantastic destination!

We can do this trek year-round, of course in very different conditions. If you have a look at the pictures you can see the environment during the winter months. It is one of my favourite periods to traverse this gorge. If you come in the winter, you will need crampons to progress.

The beginning of the tour is in Podstsko, where we enter the gorge after a few meters. The hiking trail runs along the creek during the whole itinerary. In narrow areas, there are wooden walkways and also ladders. You will be able to enjoy the Misau Falls, Cayman Falls and Window Waterfall. During the colder months, they might be frozen! There are some very narrow passages in the itinerary.

After it rains, the creek level is higher, bluffy stretches are on the sidewalk, and the rocks can squeak, so it is necessary to get equipped with good waterproof shoes with vibram soles.

The trek will take in total 4-5 hours, and approximately half of the time we will be hiking uphill. You need to be in good physical shape to join this tour.

Tempted to join me for a fun trekking day at the Suchá Belá Gorge? Then don’t hesitate, request to book this trip and we will set a date! In the Slovak Paradise, I also like to guide via ferrata, you can have a look at the program.

What people are saying about Peter

Michael

Had a great trip. Peter is an excellent guide and hiking companion. He knows the area very well and made sure it was a memorable day! Highly recommend this trip if you want an adventurous day!

Graham

Great trek with a highly qualified and friendly guide. The hike was quite challenging and would have taken us longer to reach the summit then anticipated but despite not making it to the top we had a fabulous experience with great scenery and views. Would recommend booking with Peter, a real pro.

Brendan

Peter was absolutely fantastic.. a true tatra leader.. had a great time climbing rysy ... i would come back again to the tatras because of his excellent guidance...

Audrey

Peter is an experienced and wonderful guide. We had a great time hiking Rysy with him, and he shared a lot of useful tips and information with us throughout the hike. He kept us safe, and made our hike a great experience. We highly recommend Peter!

Marlies

Enjoyed my day with Peter, who went out of his way to make the trip enjoyable and fun. Environment is stunning. If you might be insecure about the via ferrata: no worries. Easy, not very technical. Was happy to have Peter with me though, the track was not very obvious for me as we had to climb through the gorge, over fallen trees. Totally safe, just unexpected. Just bring a fair amount of stamina and you’ll love this track
