Explore the incredible backcountry of the Tram Ridge area, a great mixture of wide glades, rushing gullies and stunning ridge lines.
The Squaw Valley is one of the largest ski areas in the United States and is connected to the Sierra Nevada mountain range. The resort hosted the Winter Olympics in 1960 and receives heaps of snow every season.
Just east of the valley is Lake Tahoe, a huge freshwater lake straddling the border between California and Nevada. It holds crystal clear waters and terrific panoramas of surrounding mountains.
Its depth of diversity offers fantastic access to a mountain worth of terrain along the backside of Squaw.
Its north face presents wonderful untracked slopes flowing with deep powder. And a nicely-timed half-day trip means that you’ll be able to experience pristine runs while avoiding backcountry skis and boots.
We’ll make our way down the slopes into Shirley Canyon via various degrees of steepness.
Potential participants must be able to link turns on ungroomed runs, which can be compared with skiing on ungroomed back diamond runs. And you must be competent in a variety of terrain and under snow conditions.
Get in touch now to reserve your place in the stunning Squaw Valley for a half-day backcountry skiing tour around Lake Tahoe.
