The Benasque Valley is located in the center of the Pyrenees, in the province of Huesca, in Spain’s northern autonomous community of Aragon. It contains the largest number of peaks above 3,000 meters in the Pyrenees, and is bordered by two of the highest massifs in the range, the Posets (3,369m) and the Maladeta (3,312m), which give name to the Posets-Maladeta Natural Park (33,440.60ha).
Considered one of the most beautiful valleys of the Pyrenees, Benasque features high peaks covered in snow yearlong, alpine lakes and streams, a few glaciers, and dense wooded masses of beech, firs, birch, gall, oak, and black and red pine trees, which host fascinating typical Asturian species such as chamois, roe deer, marmot, bearded vultures, and golden eagles.
The Benasque Valley is a premium destination for ski touring and splitboarding fans. It offers amazing backcountry terrain for all levels, comprising a wide range of wild skiing areas at different altitudes, far away from the crowds.
During our tour, we will ride on large open slopes, enjoying breathtaking views over the Pyrenees. You can join me on a 1-day trip or a longer journey. I will tailor the itinerary according to your time availability, skill level, and goals, selecting the perfect ascents and descents for you. Among the +3,000-meter peaks in the area, we can visit the famous Mount Aneto (3,404m), the highest mountain in the Pyrenees and the third highest in Spain, the Maladeta (3,312m), and the Pico del Alba (3,118m).
I will take a maximum of 4 people on this tour. Participants need to be in good shape and have prior off-piste snowboarding experience, with at least an intermediate level.
Explore the highest peaks in the Spanish Pyrenees. Book your trip now!
For your reference, I also offer a ski touring version of this program, as well as 1+day tours on Benasque Valley’s +2,000-meter peaks.

Great area, very well selected canyons (for beginners); indeed other options for more advanced explorers. We liked Gorka's patience, ability to explain and attention to our safety. Gorka also gave us great tips for other trips / activities in the area. Highly recommend Gorka, this area, as well as this trip!
Stay up-to-date on the best adventures.
