Description

Situated near Auronzo di Cadore, in the Italian province of Belluno, Lake Misurina is a large and beautiful lake in the middle of the Dolomites. It’s one of the most popular spots in the area and its surroundings are excellent for snowshoeing. Join me on this program and discover the incredible landscapes this area has to offer!

First, we’ll meet in front of Lake Misurina and travel to the start of the hike. The beginning of the trail will lead us across the pine trees and then we’ll continue the ascent to an old refuge. From this point, we’ll be able to contemplate breathtaking views of the lake, the Tre Cime di Lavaredo, Cadini di Misurina, Sorapiss and Marmarole. These are some of the most beautiful natural spots in the Dolomites and offer incredible views. Afterwards, we’ll go down the same path.

As for the requirements, this is an easy program, perfect for beginners. However, consider that we’ll face an elevation gain of 600 meters while snowshoeing. Therefore, it’s important to be physically fit.

If you are looking for a program to get away from the crowds and discover new places, you can’t miss this chance. All you have to do is send the request and book your place. I’m sure you’ll love snowshoeing around Lake Misurina.

Another great option in the Dolomites could be this snowshoeing program on the Mondeval plateau. Check it out!

Mountain Guide

I was born in the plain in 1983, but as often happens to those who were born there, I have always loved the mountains. I was three years old when I wore my first skis, not knowing that this would become my strongest passion ... Skiing, walking, climbing: it is since I was a child that I go to the mountains, first with my parents and my grandfather and then with my friends.

The degree in forestry science was only the logical consequence of this passion, as well as the beautiful summers spent managing the refuge Capanna Punta Penia in Marmolada (the highest refuge in the Dolomites, on top of the highest mountain in the Dolomites!), which I call "the bus without wheels" and all over the Dolomites!
The last step (for now...) was to become a Mountain Guide, to let you experience what the mountain transmits to me!
… and to show you the famous " bus without wheels”

Giovanni was an exceptionally wonderful guide! Our family spent the day with him climbing in Cinque Torri. He was incredibly patient with our children, and was able to find routes that we all enjoyed climbing. We loved every minute of the day and would recommend this trip to any family interested in doing some sport climbing near Cortina/Cinque Torri.
