Located at the northernmost part of Nordland, Narvik has played a strategic role in a variety of ways. There have been settlements in the area for a long time, with many rock carvings in the area dating back to at least the late Stone Age period, but the city of Narvik itself is actually just a little more than 100 years old. Through the years it has served as a port for the transportation of iron ore from Swedish mines, though it has developed into an adventure hub for winter sports enthusiasts who want to explore the unique, captivating, and never-ending beauty of its landscape.

This ski touring program does just that, immersing you for three days in the dream-like snow conditions inside the Arctic Circle. With Narvik Mountain Lodge as our home base just above the city, we will head off into the untouched snow. Our program features tree skiing, deep valleys, shore-to-peak runs, and so much more. There is an eclectic mix of possible routes and lines for us to take, plenty of options to keep us occupied for the entire three days.

Narvik is renowned in the skiing community for both its resorts and its accommodating landscape. Storied athletes have trained on these slopes, along with a series of competitions and events to show off the world-class conditions. Common objectives include steep couloirs, high and open runs, glacier traverses, and high-quality tree skiing. There is definitely something for everyone on this program!

Our stay at Narvik Mountain Lodge will enhance our experience. Meals will be included, and we can ski in and out into whichever adventure we decide to take for the day. The location even allows ambitious ski touring groups to head into Sweden’s Lapland for plateau skiing on the inland mountains.

I am passionate about providing a safe and satisfying environment for my programs. You should have a general fitness level and enough experience and awareness to handle three days in Norwegian backcountry. Avalanche safety is a top priority, and weather can change in an instant.
