Lyngen Alps
7 Days
Apr, May
The Lyngen Alps are a mountain range in the north of Norway, above the polar circle.
Along the province of Troms, where it lies the northernmost city in the world, Tromso, we are going to enjoy some of the finest ski touring in Europe.
Very close to the charming city, the mountains reach heights above 1500 meters. However, our base will be Uloya Island, which is only 2 hours by car. We’ll stay at the traditional Handelsstett of Havnnes, in a cozy chalet.
From there, we’ll explore the surrounding area trying to find the best snow and the best runs. Sometimes we may start directly on skins from the chalet, while other days we may use a boat to reach a peaceful bay to start our tour. Our van will also grants us access to many other spots nearby.
However, one of the highlights of the week will be ski touring on the Kagen Island. It will be a stunning combination of great skiing with spectacular views down into deep blue fjords. You can easily spend your whole life up here exploring all the possible ski tours!
Please contact me if you want to join me for an incredible ski touring week in Norway. I will be glad to take you to the best spots there!

Best time to travel there:
The best time to go ski touring in the Lyngen Alps is between mid April to mid May. At this time of the year the snow pack, which can be quite fragile and delicate earlier in the season, usually is stable. We'll enjoy the very long daylight…at this time of the year it does not get dark anymore up here. Also it is not unusual to find powder snow on the north slopes and spring corn snow on the southern slopes.

Requirements:
