Join me for a full-immersion 4-day ski touring course in the beautiful Aurina Valley (South Tyrol), in Italy.
This course will allow you to wander through the whitewashed mountains, to be passionate about the virgin snow leaps, to seek new emotions away from the slopes or to just go to the alpine world in winter.
We will cover different aspects of:
– Climbing techniques
– Off-piste skiing techniques
– Avalanche rescue training.
Check the itinerary below to see how I have divided the activities during the course. You will see that we mix learning and fun practice.
In particular, I will focus on teaching you:
– Recognition and evaluation of potential avalanche areas
– How to find the best climbing routes
– Location and execution of the best tracks
Besides all the practical aspects, we will also cover some theoretical aspects. In general we will do it during the evenings, so as not to waste precious day ski time.
Interested in learning ski touring in the best possible way? Then this course in Aurina Valley is for you! Please send me a request to book this trip and get ready for 4 intense days of learning and ski touring. And once you have more experience ski touring, why not try this mythical 2-day ascent of Mont Blanc?
During the first day I verify the group’s skiing level. We will see the basic notions and technical equipment related to ski mountaineering. I will distribute the safety equipment.
Techniques that we will cover: ski track, climbing, off-piste skiing, avalanche rescue training.
We go on a simple outing to explore some of the issues seen on day 1. We cover climbing techniques, downhill skiing technique and avalanche rescue training.
Today we will focus on recognizing the environment: the canals, ridges, valleys, forest areas…
You will learn how to distinguish the best areas to be safe from avalanches, and to determine the best climbing routes.
We will spend the day exploring the wonderful slopes.
The final day of the course will be a classic mountain climbing itinerary, 800-1000 meters of altitude change. During the tour we will review and put in practice all the topics of the previous days.

poor weather limited the experience. We had hoped for a guide more familiar with the area, our first and last night were in a remote place requiring an hours walk. We only learnt about this on the day of departure. otherwise no problems
Stay up-to-date on the best adventures.
