Ski mountaineering on Mount Shasta (3 days)

We will guide you for 3 days on an unforgettable journey that will take you across the awe-inspiring and breath-taking Mount Shasta in California, renowned as one of the best ski mountaineering peaks in the country and a place that provides the ideal blend of challenging yet fun runs and areas to ski on.

Mount Shasta is located in the far North of California, in the Sierra mountain range, and is known for its constant deep and fresh powder, as well as its abundant sunshine throughout the year. It is currently an active volcano, and due to the underrated and underreported nature of the place, crowds are scarce in comparison to its more illustrious neighbours in nearby states.

We meet on the first morning in the town of Mount Shasta, and from there it is straight up to base camp on the mountain, where we will set off from on the subsequent 2 days.

Over the course of the three days we will be skiing around the sub-peak of the mountain, as well as practicing our ice axe and cramponing techniques. The third day is spent ascending to the peak of Mount Shasta, and then descending on ski, as we wind our way down overlooking the truly spectacular and splendid valleys and forests below.

We then finish up on the third day back in Mount Shasta town, weary and content at our challenging and fun trip!
