Mission Gorge is an immensely popular destination – you will feel right at home at this venue! It’s a great location that caters to both half days and full days, depending on what you have in mind. It also has great routes for beginners, and even some more challenging climbs if anyone is looking for something a touch more difficult.

Shaded from the heat of the morning sun, this year-round spot is sure to please every climber. The climate and the atmosphere will make you comfortable all day long. The trails are clear, and access is easy, so you will have no trouble getting out there and enjoying yourself on the rock.

Itinerary

Day 1: Climbing in Mission Gorge

We'll start our day by departing from your accommodation in San Diego, ensuring all gear is packed. Upon arriving at Mission Gorge, we will park at the lot, and double-check our gear.

Begin with a short hike to the climbing area, warm-up exercises, and a safety briefing. For the morning session, we can select routes suitable for the group's skill level, rotating climbing and belaying among members.

Take a lunch break in a shaded spot, enjoying a packed meal and hydrating. Continue with the afternoon session, exploring different routes and challenging yourself with more difficult climbs if comfortable.

End with cool-down stretches, pack up all gear, and ensure the area is clean. Hike back to the parking area, load up vehicles, and return to San Diego to unpack and clean equipment if necessary.
