There are a number of important techniques that must be mastered in order to enjoy safe and successful mountaineering. Some examples include knot tying, learning how to properly use a avalanche transceiver and knowing how to properly rope yourself in while walking on a glacier, which will be the focus of this 2 hour evening course that will take place at the Sihlhölzli sporting facility.
Walking on glaciers is one of the most thrilling experiences a mountaineer can have. You are traversing on unstable, constantly changing, gorgeous terrain. However, with that excitement and beauty comes a lot of potential risk. That is why it is necessary to know how to trek on glaciers properly.
The Sihlhölzli outdoor sporting facility is the perfect place to practice for the glaciers to come. The facility is spacious and will provide all of the space we need for you to learn and practice. Moreover, the complex is located in the beautiful city of Zurich. Hence making this course, which begins at 6:30 pm, a great addition to any vacation to the city you may be taking.
Participants on this course should know how to tie a base knot. If you don’t have any experience with proper knot tying, I also offer this 2 hour course, which also takes place at the Sihlhölzli sports complex.
Have you ever dreamed of walking on a glacier? Then send me a request and join me on this course. I would be happy to teach you how to properly rope yourself in, so you can do it safely.

This was a great trip and Explore Share made finding the right trip super easy. Our guide was personable, extremely knowledgeable, and experienced and willing to teach us the skills we would have needed to climb the Matterhorn. Unfortunatly, the conditions were not right to climb so our guide recemmended another trip which was still a great experience and lots of fun.

Very user friendly platform with timely responses from Explore Share representatives. The trip itself with Tom from Alps Adventures was awesome and ensure that we had an experience that was 100% what we wanted. Recommend both the platform and the guide. Thanks to all for arranging and delivering so well.
I had am amazing time during the 1-day off-piste training course at Hoch-Ybrig. Urs, our main mountain guide, was very helpful in answering my queries before the course, and Lupe from explore-share was helpful in selecting the course. We had 3 groups under Urs, Mario and Patrick, and I was in the group with Patrick. He gave us a lot of nice tips and individualized video analysis. He made a special effort to convey everything in English, since I don't know German. All the participants were very helpful and friendly too! The course is good value for money as skis are included for the weekend in the course price.
Stay up-to-date on the best adventures.
