Ice climbing is one of those sports that combine the best parts of many disciplines. It offers absolute freedom as you reach higher places. And it is incredibly rewarding as you learn to climb on different type of surfaces. However, it requires a lot of practice and the right crew to help you reach your goals. So if you are thinking about practicing ice climbing, but don’t have any experience, this 1-day course in the Sierra Nevada is perfect for you!
One day might barely seem enough. But we will cover all the essentials about this amazing sport. Some of the things we’ll go over is the use of gear and technical climbing material. We’ll learn how to use the equipment, and how to maintain it. Then, we will also cover techniques on traction and frontal tips.
What’s more, I will make sure we follow all the safety rules necessary to ensure you are safe, while having a wonderful time. Also, all of my groups are always small, I only take maximum 4 people on each course. Hence, I promise I will be with you the whole way, giving you pointers and helping you improve your techniques.
So if you want to come with me on this ice climbing adventure, don’t hesitate and send me a request. It will be an unforgettable experience.
Please note that to join this ice climbing course you should have some rock climbing experience. If you don’t have any, you can check this 2-day introduction to rock climbing in Granada.

Fantastic winter ascent of Mulhacen together with guide Mariano Frutos in mid-January. Very warm and sunny day and extremely icy on the top but fantastic views all the way to the Moroccan Rif mountains. Few people on the mountain and a lot of Iberian mountain goats. Mariano was excellent and Pablo at Explore-Share made the logistics easy and straightforward as always.
