Description

Join me for a fantastic hiking trip to the spectacular Sairecabur Volcano. Located in the border between Chile and Bolivia, this beautiful peak in the Andes reaches 6.040 meters above sea level. You'll be amazed every step of the way!

This trip starts very early, at 4.30 AM so we can enjoy the views with the beautiful sunshine. We'll ride for two hours from San Pedro de Atacama. Once we are at the base of the volcano, we'll enjoy breakfast together to get filled up with energy. Then the adventure begins. We'll hike for 5 to 6 hours and discover the beauties of the Chilean landscape.

The Sairecabur Volcano is considered to be an intermediate trek. It is one of the easiest 6.000-meter peak in the Andes, but getting to the top implies getting used to the altitude and air pressure, which can be challenging. I will guide you every step of the way, but do not overestimate the hike. No special equipment is necessary, other than hiking boots. I will provide you with oxygen and communications equipment. If you do decide to do this hike in the winter, do bring crampons and equipment for very low temperatures.

If you are as excited for this hike as I am, send me a message! I would love to guide you in this unique adventure.

I offer other hikes in Chile. If you are looking for more options, be sure to check out the ones I offer to Quebrada del Nacimiento, Las Cornisas and others.

About lead guide, Christian Fernandez:

I’m originally from Argentina, but live in Chile since 1998. Now I’m settled in the north of Chile, in San Pedro de Atacama, beautiful town in the heart of the Andean section of the dry Atacama dessert.

From there I organize many expeditions to beautiful peaks on a weekly basis. I’ve done more than 300 high altitude ascents, and more than 25 peaks over 6000 metres.

I speak English, Spanish and Portuguese.

We expected breakfast and lunch (as described in the explore share details about the tour) but get just a banana and a few bars.

It looks that company even do not know, that the guide yesterday canceled my trip. He said because of precast of electric storm. Sice that moment nobody from the company did not answer my phone. Weather around San Pedro was very nice. Of cause I do not know haw was on Pili. Anyway, I am horribly disappointed. Mirka

This is an easy assent! I ended up paying $200 for a two hour experience and an apple and piece of chocolate ( lunch 😳) If you plan on doing this hike which I highly recommend, don’t book it with these guys - total rip off!! You can go with a group for about $70 if you book locally from San Pedro! It’s a beautiful view from the summit! It’s not even hard to get there ( they drive you most of the way!) My guide was lovely, great chat, nice person but trust me $200 is a massive massive massive rip off for this ‘experience’
