Do you enjoy independent rock climbing, but want to do so responsibly? Then this 2-day course is perfect for you as it focuses on rescue and self-rescue techniques. The course will take place at the Grands Malades in the Wallonia region of Belgium. It is a beautiful area, full of great views and wonderful climbing.
Safety is crucial when it comes to rock climbing; however, accidents do occur, and it is important to know how to deal with them, whether you are climbing alone or with a partner. And on this course, we will focus on several topics and techniques that will aid you in the event of an accident or problematic situation. Some of what we will cover includes how to escape during a climbing retreat in the lead and how to get back on the rope when you cannot pass a passage. We will also focus on assistance to the second in a difficult passage, intervention for unlocking your partner and rappelling down with them and much more.
This course takes place from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, each day. However, if time is an issue, you can also enjoy this course over 4 days, from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm each day. Those dates are on the 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th of June. Each day is a Wednesday.
In order to participate on this trip you should be able to climb autonomously.
Learning about rescue and self-rescue techniques is very important to safe and successful rock climbing. And on this 2-day course, I will teach you many of those techniques. Moreover, you will get to learn them on the beautiful Grands Malades in Wallonia, Belgium. To take this course, just send me a request.
I also offer a 2-day single-pitch rock climbing course at the Grands Malades, which you can enjoy here.

It was our first time outdoor bouldering and Ivan was extremely friendly and prioritized safety. He also helped guide us through the different routes and outdoor bouldering techniques.

My teenage son and I spent two afternoons in April bouldering with our guide, Leo, in Fontainebleau. Leo was an excellent guide and teacher. He selected boulders that were both challenging and within our skill level. Leo also share fun information about the area we were bouldering in and gave helpful information to make sure we got to the right place at the right time. We highly recommend Leo and would gladly do another bouldering excursion with him.

I was in Paris for a few days and really wanted to try bouldering at Fontainebleau, but since it was my first time and I didn’t have any friends to go with, I wasn’t sure how to make it happen. A quick Google search led me to Explore Share, and even before I booked anything, they were super responsive and helpful with all my questions. On the day itself, my guide Ivan was amazing—he helped me read the routes, build trust in the footholds, figure out the beta, and even showed me how to downclimb safely. Overall, a fantastic experience and I’m so glad I went for it!
Robbie
Leo was great! He was very knowledgeable about Fontainebleau climbing and history. We only had a half day in the area and were able to cram in way more climbing because of his knowledge and expertise. Highly recommended!
