What is the best time to visit Chitwan National Park?
The ideal time to plan a tour to Chitwan is from late September to May, as this period is generally free from monsoons. If you are not comfortable with hot and humid weather, then October to March is a suitable time to visit Chitwan.
On the other hand, if you are accustomed to and can tolerate hot weather, visiting Chitwan in April-May is also an option. However, it is important to note that the temperature during this time can exceed 40 °C.
Chitwan is also a popular destination during winter, which falls between November, December, and January. Travelers should be aware that the views of the town and jungle may be obstructed by fog during this time. Additionally, pollution from industrial activities, traffic, and waste burning can mix with the fog and create a smog that may negatively impact the overall experience of the tour.
