At the heart of the Julian Alps, Mount Triglav (2864 m) rises as the highest and most emblematic peak in Slovenia. Its 1000 m high north wall is a jewel for climbers all over the world.
In fact, you can find more than 100 routes for all levels there. This time, I propose you to climb a challenging multi-pitch route called Bavarian route.
The firsts to climb this route were two German climbers. At the time, the route was considered as the hardest in Triglav north face.
This is an 800 m route, IV+ grade in the UIAA grading system. The climb is constant and demanding. At the end of this route, you can either take Zimmer-Jahn exit (at 2200 m) or continue towards the Long German route (Kugy's shelfs) at 2500 m.
Are you ready for a multi-pitch climbing adventure in the impressive north face of Mt Triglav? Send me a request and let's go there together!
I offer many mountain programmes in this area, like a 1-day hike in Seven Triglav Lakes. Please note that you can combine this trip with any other you wish and receive a discount. Besides, you can ask about other non-mountain activities including horseback riding, mountain biking, skydiving, paragliding, kayaking, hot air ballooning and more!

Mountain Guide
I’m a certified IFMGA mountain guide and canyoning guide living in the small and famous town of Bled, in Slovenia.
I started rock climbing at the age of 5. From that time on, the mountains became my playground. During my childhood, I took part in many rock climbing competitions. When I was 12, my twin brother and I did our first multi-pitch climb on a 350 m wall.
By the age of 16, I started competing in ice climbing world cups and later on skydiving junior world cups. In fact, in 2008 I became the world champion at the UIAA Ice Climbing Overall Ranking in speed ice climbing.
I climbed in many different countries like Peru, South Korea, Switzerland, France and Italy. However, Slovenia is the place I like the most.
Among other significant achievements, I did the first winter ascent (from the bottom of the wall) in Sphinx, the most difficult route in the mythical North Face of Mt Triglav. Besides, I got the first place for males at the IFMGA International mountain guide climbing championship in 2017.
I like sharing moments with people, especially in mountains. Feel free to join me in the highest mountains, steepest walls and many other Alpine wonders. I’m flexible, so we can also research places in other countries worldwide. Deep canyons, emerald rivers, beautiful mountains, great people, a good laugh, you name it.
I look forward to meeting you!

This hike was a highlight of our trip! Matevz was an amazing guide. The one day hike up Mount Triglav was more challenging than we expected. Matevz is very experienced, which made us felt safe during the via ferrate section. He was patient and encouraging of us the entire way.

I had a very nice experience with explore-share. They were able to answer any questions I had about the trek like reaching the trailhead or equipment, etc. They also responded really fast. Matevz was also an amazing guide, helping us with the route when took a wrong route to the hut and was very clear and honest in his communication. He also ensured that we maintained a good pace to the summit without being too pushy.

We had an amazing time climbing with Matevz near Bled! He took us to his hometown crag and found us several routes that suited our skill level. Strongly recommended.

Stunning hike up Debela Pec with our guide Timotei from Altitude Activities. Everything was exactly as we hoped - super kind and friendly guide, beautiful scenery, fun hiking in the snow and a great traditional Slovenian lunch at the hut on the way down. Great experience!
Stay up-to-date on the best adventures.
