Are you looking for an exciting outdoor adventure in Greece? Then come to Nafplio for a this rock climbing trip!
Nafplio is a seaport town in the Peloponnese, a peninsula in southern Greece. Lying near the north end of the Argolic Gulf, this beautiful city offers a large number of superb limestone crags with climbing routes for all styles and levels.
On this day outing, we will find the perfect spot to suit your wishes and skills. The sectors of Lithostroto, Arvanitia, Anatoli, Karathonas, Neraki and Vivari have more than 225 sport routes well equipped sport routes to choose from. Furthermore, upon these rocks we will enjoy stunning views of the Adriatic Sea!
Keep in mind that this rock climbing tour is suitable for all levels. Also, some of the spots are child friendly too.

How experienced do I need to be to climb in Nafplio?
There are routes for all levels of climbers, from beginners to experienced rock climbers. I'll define the itinerary of the day based on your experience/level and your wishes.
What are the different climbing areas in Nafplio? Where will we go climbing?
There are different climbing sites in Nafplio. I'll define the sites & routes we'll climb based on your climbing level, your wishes for this day together and the weather / temperatures. We could for example climb in Karathonas in the morning, and Anatoli in the afternoon. Kondyli beach is also a great option as it offers a wonderful climbing experience above the sea.
Where will we meet?
If we meet in Nafplio directly, I'll define the meeting point a few days before based on the site where we'll climb together.
If we meet in Athens and drive together there, I'll pick you up at your accommodation. Please note that there will be an extra of €45 to pay if you come with me from Athens. You can also take a bus, it takes 2 hours.
What's included in the price of this climbing day?
The following items are included in the price of this tour:
- My guiding & coaching services
- The common climbing gear (ropes, belaying devices, quickdraws, etc.). I can provide personal climbing equipment (helmet, harness and shoes) for €10 per person.
Should I bring food for the day?
You should bring food, snacks and water for the day. If you come with me, we can stop in a shop on the way to the climbing site.
Can children climb in Nafplio?
Nafplio also offers great climbing opportunities for children. They are welcome to join, of course!
How can I go to Nafplio from Athens?
You can take a bus. It takes around 2 hours.
We can also drive there together, and I'll pick you at your place in Athens. You'll have to pay €45 extra to cover the gas and the tolls.
Is it possible to join an existing group?
I only offer private guided rock climbing tours.
What kind of climbing can be done in Nafplio?
In Nafplio, we climb sport routes, top rope and leading on excellent solid limestone.
Can you provide the climbing gear?
I'm providing the common climbing gear (ropes, belaying devices, quickdraws, etc.). If you don't have your personal gear with you, I can provide you with a harness, a helmet and climbing shoes for €10 per person.
How many climbers can you take with you?
I can take maximum 4 to 6 climbers with me. It will depend on the climbing experience of the members of the group. If needed, my climbing assistant will join us.
Is it possible to do a multi-day tour and include some climbing in Athens in the program?

For how long will we be climbing?
We'll be climbing for around 6 hours.

We had a great time with Dimitris. He picked us up from our campground and took us to these private and picturesque cliffs on the shore. He’s a great instructor, very positive and encouraging. I am a beginner and he had me quickly going up the easier routes. My daughter is more experienced and he was able to have her go up routes that challenged her. Fun for both of us.
