Description

Corma di Machaby is a very popular rock climbing spot in the lower Aosta Valley, with single pitch and multi-pitch routes for all levels.

Lying close to the village of Arnad, 70 km away from Courmayeur, the 250 m wall of Corma di Machaby can be easily spotted from the highway that goes from Aosta to Torino.

For this rock climbing trip we'll meet early in the morning, either in Courmayeur or in Arnad. After a short drive, an easy hike will lead us to the crag.

Here you'll find hundreds of routes in excellent gneiss, ranging from 4a to 7b (in the French grading system).

In case you are a beginner, the Gruviera area is perfect for single pitch climbs. However, if you want to venture on multi-pitch routes, I can help you choose the best option according to your climbing skills.

Finally, we'll go back to Courmayeur in the afternoon.

Would you like to join me for a rock climbing journey in this impressive location of the Aosta Valley? Send me a request so we can set a date for this trip!

If you want to improve your skills and receive an intense training on techniques in high mountains, check this 4-day rock climbing course in the Mont Blanc massif.

Stacia

We loved our guide and our adventure. She was very accommodating to our needs and nice to be around. I would totally book with explore share again.

We did a 1 day Ferrata with Marica. We've both never climbed a Ferrata before but we are both good hikers. We enjoyed our trip very much and you don't need to be a climber. Marica took good care of us and she is very informative with the local geography and history. We felt very safe with her. If you are traveling near the Dolomite and want to try something a bit out of your comfort zone, I highly recommend doing a ferrata especially with Marica. We did both ferrata ra gusela nuvolau and ferrata-averau. It took us about 6 hours.

I had a truly fantastic experience with Gabriele. He was a very experienced, careful guide. He was very considerate and encouraging and I was very fortunate to have this climbing experience.
