Rock climbing in Sinai and Wadi Rum

Surprisingly, but in the desert there are mountains and even rocks of best quality, for traditional climbing. In this short program we will visit two absolutely different, but close located areas, St Catherine in Sinai, Egypt and Wadi Rum in Jordan. We’ll try different rock technics on cracks, chimnies and off-width on multi-pitch routs. We’ll compare granites of Sinai to the Jordanian hard sandstone. 300-500 m walls will meet us there.

These places are also unique because of when in the European latitudes winter takes its power, climate and weather in the Middle East are in most suitable conditions for best rock journey.

Program:
1 day: arriving in Sharm-El-Sheih, Egypt. Transfer to St. Catherine village. Visiting St Catherine monastery.
2 day: meeting with Sinai mountains. Ascent on Jebel Fara, Pharaoh’s chimney rout PD
3 day: ascent on Jebel Safsafa, Skull rout AD
4 day: transfer to Taba by car, then by ferry to Aqaba, Jordan. Transfer to Wadi Ram village.
5 day: Jebel Rakabat ascent by L’Aperitif rout PD+
6 day: Jebel Rum ascent by Hammad’s rout AD+
7 day: transfer to Pertra, well-known antient nabatean city. Day of Excursion .Transfer to Amman. Flight home.
