Rock climbing in the Destel Canyon, close to Toulon

I will guide you on this highly enjoyable and fun-filled rock climbing trip in the Destel Canyon, close to Toulon, France, where we will climb, walk and abseil around the humongous rock faces of the canyon, testing our climbing abilities and admiring the epic and awesome views out over the tranquil French countryside and the Mediterranean Sea in the distance.

The Destel Canyon is located in the South of France, just 10km from the city of Toulon, and is an immensely popular location to undertake rock climbing. It’s proximity to the French Riviera means many people visit for day trips to indulge in outdoor activities.

Over the course of this trip we will endeavor to increase your rock climbing skills, techniques and confidence, with the added bonus of doing some walking and abseiling along the way.

The routes, courses and obstacles we encounter are diverse and of differing levels of difficulty, meaning this trip can be undertaken by anyone with previous rock climbing experience, from beginners to experts.

There are 2 main routes to tackle, with the first taking us to the castle of Evenos on both an aerial and underground route, and the second entails us going back down through the gorge and the gigantic natural vats caused by erosion.

Quintessential French landscape, scenery and terrain surround the gorge, adding to the tranquil and idyllic setting, and a particular highlight for many is the sublime and gorgeous views out to the Mediterranean Sea.

By the end of this trip you will have improved your rock climbing and fallen even more in love with this superb part of France.
