Description

Madeira is an archipelago with incredible landscapes in front of the northwestern coast of Africa in Portugal. The main island is famous for its woods, volcanic mountains and endemic flora. Also, a distinctive characteristic of Madeira is the levadas, a local irrigation system that we can follow to discover the island’s hidden spots.

On this 1-day experience, we’ll head in the direction of Rabaçal and explore the Risco Waterfall and 25 Fontes Falls. Risco consists of a group of several streams descending from an elevation of 100 meters. The sight is absolutely fabulous. As for 25 Fontes, the waterfall is in the middle of the exuberant Laurisilva of Madeira forest, one of the island jewels, declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco.

Regarding demand, consider that this trekking has a medium level of difficulty and involves walking 13 kilometers in 4 hours. The complete duration of the program is 11 hours, from 6 am to 5 pm. Therefore, it’s important to have a good fitness level.
