Have you always wanted to try rock climbing but didn’t know where to start? Railay Beach in Thailand has over 1,000 routes and is the ultimate spot for rock climbing. On this half-day rock climbing tour, I invite you to join me on an adventure that will be both educational and fun!

With towering limestone cliffs facing Railay, the Andaman Sea and Phra Nang Beach, this small peninsula is a rock climbing paradise. Located between the city of Krabi and Ao Nang, Railay Beach is also famous for its beautiful white sandy beaches, spectacular views, caves and hidden lagoons.

This rock climbing tour can take place in the morning or in the afternoon. Whether we start at 8:30 am or at 1:30 pm, after we check all our equipment, we’ll be ready to begin our adventure. This trip is highly recommend for groups and families with children (from 5 years old) who are looking to discover the wonderful world of rock climbing.

On this 4-hour introductory course, we’ll cover the following topics:

Proper use of equipment
Essential outdoor climbing safety measures
Introduction to top rope sport rock climbing
Introduction to simple belay and rappel skills
Basic introduction to climbing top rope movement and holding skills

PRICE DETAILS
The price above corresponds to open group sessions (maximum 4 climbers with each climbing guide).
For children ages 16 and under, the price is USD 33 per climber.
If you prefer to have your own private guide (1 climber with 1 guide), the price is USD 110. If you prefer to have a private session for 2 climbers (2 climbers with 1 guide), the price is USD 139 in total.

Itinerary

Day 1: Morning Half Day Rock Climbing Itinerary:

7.30- 8.00 am hotel pick up (optional)
8.30 am arrive at Real Rocks shop for check in and gear fitting
Transfer by taxi and long tail boat to Railay Beach (for customers on mainland only)
9.00 am-1.00 pm rock climbing on the beach
2.00 pm end of climbing activity, (return by long tail boat to Ao Nang/Krabi town)

There's a ferry from Phuket to Railay. It takes roughly 2 hours and runs daily.

Really great introduction to outdoor climbing. My partner and I have only ever done indoor bouldering and roped climbing. He is a lot more experienced than me, and climbs at a higher grade, but even he felt challenged with some of the climbs. I managed to keep up (mostly). There were only 4 of us on this trip so we didn't feel pressured to have to try and rush the climbs, which is great for a beginner trip. The guide was so patient and encouraging.
