If you have some free time when you’re next in Madrid, you do not want to miss my half-day trip to the Priego via ferrata in Cuenca. This spot is close enough to Madrid that it’s easy to get there and far enough away that we’ll feel like we’re escaping the city.
A via ferrata is a system of steel cords, metal steps and bridges that are attached to a rock face. We’ll have a clip and harness that allow us to attach ourselves to the rock and move along it, without the risk of falling.
Before we start, I’ll give you all the information and tips that you need to successfully tackle this via ferrata. And to have lots of fun.
The first section of the via ferrata is less physically demanding but the second section is more challenging. We’ll climb an iron ladder that is attached to the rock, then we’ll traverse limestone rock on a narrow trail. To finish we’ll cross a hanging bridge. The whole time we’ll be able to take in the beautiful scenery.
So what are you waiting for? Request to book now and I’ll be waiting for you to come along on this mini adventure!
And, if this via ferrata experience leaves you wanting more, you should check out my mountain climbing day trip in La Pedraza, near Madrid.
