Piz Badile (3308 m) is a spectacular granite peak of the Bregaglia range, lying on the border between the Italian region of Lombardy and the Swiss canton of Graubünden.
I invite you to join me on a 2-day rock climbing trip and reach the summit of Pizzo Badile -its Italian name- via the Marimonti Ridge (Punta Sertori) and the East Ridge, coming up from the amazing Val Masino in Italy.
On the first day, after 3/4 hours we will reach the Gianetti Refuge, enjoying an amazing view on the Piz Badile. On the second day, we will reach the Marimonti ridge and the top of Punta Sertori, crossing the East Ridge. From this point we will reach the summit of Piz Badile.
After enjoying a wonderful panorama view from the top, we will descend along the normal route to the Gianetti Hut. Here we have two options: we can either continue our descent for other 3 hours and reach the bottom of the valley, or we can spend another night at the hut, descending the day after, following alternative paths.
Please note you need a good fitness level to join me on this ascent. I can take up to 2 people on this climbing tour. The best period for this trip is from June to September. You can check the different prices according to the duration of the programme below.
If you want to join me on this great climb, send me a request. Book your trip and we will start planning this amazing ascent. You can also check my Mount Adamello 3-day guided ascent via Pian di Neve.
Today we reach the Gianetti Refuge with a spectacular panorama view on the Pizzo Badile. (3-4 hrs.)
Early in the morning we begin our climb to reach our starting point: the Marimonti ridge, reaching the top of Punta Sertori. Crossing the East ridge we will reach the summit of Pizzo Badile.
We will then descend along the normal route to the Gianetti Refuge.
(7/8 hrs.)
*Once we reach the Refuge we have 2 Options:
–Option 1: we can continue the descent for other 3 hours and reach the bottom of the valley and our cars.
-Option 2: We can have dinner and stay overnight at the hut.
If we choose Option2, then we would descend on Day 3, the day after, following alternative paths for the descent.

The day was great, we felt safe, Stefano was responsive to our request, our pace, etc. The only thing that could have been improved was the communication before getting to Italy. I had a hard time deciding on what was appropriate for the level of our group, gauge how long and how hard the different options were with the limited info that was given to me.
Stay up-to-date on the best adventures.
