2-day ice climbing course for advanced climbers, exploring some of the many multi-pitch routes in Pitztal, together with a certified guide
Alps
2 Days
Jan - Mar
Pitztal is an alpine valley in Tyrol, Austria, which is considered as a paradise for ice climbers. It has many waterfalls and incredible gorges, as well as a glacier ice cave. In fact, there are more than 50 climbing routes, for almost every level of difficulty, from light to heavy routes!
Most of the routes are at 1-hour hike. Kitzgarten and Taschachschlucht , for example, are two great training areas we’re going to visit. Besides, if the weather conditions are not as good as we wish, we can move to other spots like the Sellrein or Ochsengarten.
I recommend this 2-day course for advanced climbers who want to improve their skills in the ice. We’ll practice multi-pitch ice climbing in mix routes with both ice and rocks. But before that, you’ll receive a complete training.
In addition, we are staying in a nice hotel in the valley for the night.
If you want to be a part of this adventure and learn more about this fascinating sport, please contact me! I will be glad to be your guide and show you the best spots in Pitztal.
We meet on the glacier express train parking After a brief welcome and checking our equipment, we’ll start hiking through a short path to Taschachschlucht.
There we’ll refresh our previous knowledge, so that we are all on the same stand.
We’ll have the opportunity to spend the whole morning at top-rope climbing on the topics “Putting ice screws”, “Schlagtechnik” and “Fußchnik”.
During the afternoon, we’ll focus on the two training points “Stand Construction” and “Preparing for Ice Climbing in Advance”.
Then, we’ll have enough time to deal with individual questions and prepare ourselves for our tour the next day.
Depending on the skills of the group today we’ll practice ice climbing in one of the many multi-pitch routes in Pitztal.
