On this exciting day tour, we will set off from Krakow to explore the stunning Pieniny National Park and several medieval castles on the way.
Pieniny National Park is the oldest national park in the country, established in 1932, and it protects one of the most beautiful mountain ranges in Poland. You will be amazed by its spectacular limestone rock formations, awe-inspiring Dunajec river gorge, and rich diversity of countryside and flora.
But this is not all. In the national park's surroundings, there are also two medieval castles, that we will also have the chance to explore. Furthermore, during this hike, we will also climbTrzy Korony, one of the most spectacular viewpoint peaks in Pieniny. Additionally, we can extend the program by 1 day to visit Niedzica castle and enjoy Dunajec river rafting.
This program is open to everyone. However, although it is not technically demanding, it is not suitable for people with a fear of heights.

What is the average distance and altitude gain that we will hike each day?
We will hike approx 15 km with 700 m of ascent and descent during that trip.
What experience do I need to have? How fit do I need to be? Is this program suitable for children or older people?
No prior experience is required, but certain sections of the trail require a "good head" for heights. Note, that during one day we will gain approx 700 m of elevation, hence good fitness level is required. The program may be suitable for children and older people under the condition that they are able to make approx 15 km with 700 m of ascent and descent during that trip.
How can I get to the trailhead/meeting point?
We meet at an agreed meeting point in Krakow and will be traveling to the trailhead via my private car.
How will accommodation and meals be handled during the trek?
This is one day trip hence no need for accommodation. We will stop at the mountain hut on our way back, hence it will be possible to buy a meal. It is recommended though to have some extra calories (snacks) and water during the trip.
Are there any other special requirements such as permits/insurance/vaccines that I need to consider before the tour?
No, there are no special requirements for this trip.
What is the best time of the year for this hike?
The best time for this hike is starting from end-April till end-October.
Can I join a group?
No, I'm offering private hikes only.
What happens in the event of bad weather?
I will be offering an alternative program in Pieniny Mountains. Another option is to cancel the trip.
What equipment will I need?
In general, you will need a backpack, good hiking shoes, a first aid kit with your medicines, a warm clothing layer, sun protection, wind and rain protective clothes, a headtorch, and trekking poles. I will provide the detailed equipment list prior to the trip.

This trip exceeded our expectations from start to finish. Pawel was a fantastic guide, very experienced and had an incredible knowledge of the geological features of the Gorce mountains and surrounding mountain ranges as well as the historical aspects of Polish history. As beginners to snowshoeing, Pawel was understanding and knowledgeable of the most suitable routes to take. In addition, at the beginning of the trip we presented Pawel with a problem which he resolved with empathy like a true gentleman. For that we were truly thankful. The whole trip was incredible. Memories created that we will never forget. Thank you so much!
Stay up-to-date on the best adventures.
