Picos de Europa-Cantabrian Mountains, Guided Trek

The Cantabrian mountains of northern Spain are a fantastic collection of peaks. The Picos de Europas, or simply, the Picos, are a group of massifs that rest within the Cantabrian mountains. This combination of ranges will be the focus of this trip, and it would be my pleasure to guide you through them.

Throughout this trip, you will have the chance to admire the beauty of the Cantabrian mountains and the Picos. I will also be able to tell you the amazing history behind these peaks as well. For example, the Picos de Europa got their name because they were the first thing incoming sailors from the Americas would see before reaching European land.

Along with the beauty, there are plenty of opportunities in these mountains to enjoy some great trekking and climbing. And when dealing with such gorgeous ridges, massifs and peaks, the higher you go, the better views you will subsequently receive!

Furthermore, there is a great deal of wildlife you may be lucky enough to see in this region as well. So don’t be surprised if you catch a glimpse of a brown bear or a wolf, or even a Rebecco, which is a Cantabrian chamois.

Yet another wonderful aspect of the Picos are the number of deep caves found throughout the range. Just a few examples include the Torca del Cerro (-1,589m) and the Pozo del Madejuno (-1,252m) along with several others.
