Description

Pic Long (3,192 m) is the highest peak in the Néouvielle massif, and one of the most mythical peaks of the Pyrenees. This is your opportunity to reach its summit with an expert guide. Join me!

The Néouvielle massif is famous for is heavily glaciated granite peaks, wonderful lakes and nice microclimate. It lies almost entirely within the Néouvielle National Nature Reserve, created in 1936. The Pic Long-Campbieil group stands south of the massif, outside the reserve, in the commune of Saint-Lary-Soulan (Hautes-Pyrénées department).  Furthermore, the Néouvielle hosts a wide variety of flora (including beautiful mountain pines) and fauna (more than 300 species of animals). If we are lucky, we may even see a golden eagle or an isard!

Pic Long is the highest mountain of Néouvielle and the hardest to climb. All the routes are challenging and require previous mountaineering and rock climbing experience. Be ready to head up impressive ridges and steep slopes! The route that I propose does not have really difficult climbing sections (III + or IV at some point), but it is 2 km long and 3,000 meters high, so you need a good fitness level!

So, if you are up for an awesome mountaineering adventure in the French Pyrenees, please get in touch with me. Let me take you to the top of Pico Long, the highest point of the Néouvielle massif!

And if you are looking for a multi-day ascent, I recommend my Tena Valley and my La Meije programs.

Fede was amazing.

Fantastic climb! We were the only people climbing the normal route so we had the mountain to ourselves. Fede was great, highly professional, and he assessed the risks very well. Highly recommended!
