Peña de Bernal is the highest monolith in the world and it boasts a wide variety of multi-pitch routes for all levels. On this rock climbing adventure, we will take you to the best routes in the region suited to your level.
Peña de Bernal is made up of porphyritic granite. The rock, although incredibly hard, does not hold traditional gear, but does allow the routes to be safely ascended on fixed protection. The beautiful color is due to the lack of iron and magnesium in the igneous rock which gives it a pink hue.
Apart from rock climbing on the famous monolith, you will also love the historical town of Bernal, which is popular for its architecture, cuisine, local fairs, and culture. During the spring equinox, local sun celebrations also attract a lot of ecotourism.
