I invite you to discover the heart of the Monegasque hinterland with this guided day hike between Peille and Peillon, two charming villages perched on the rocks. These true jewels of medieval architecture are certainly among the most spectacular small towns of our region.
Peille is located between Monaco and Menton, in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region in southeastern France. I will take on a hike through a natural environment of great beauty. The trail willl take us along open landscapes and terraces, witnesses of ancient cultures, alternating with forest or impressive limestone cliffs.
The village of Peillon is perched on top of a high narrow peak, and it has a unique collection of stone houses and narrow streets, with stairs instead of roads. The approach to the village by a secular mule track is simply spectacular, with stunning views of the surrounding landscapes.
You will discover a unique architecture and interesting cultural history in these two villages. Besides, we will enjoy all the natural and wild beauty of the Mediterranean vegetation, flora and fauna.
Along the walk, we will identify and smell different aromatic herbs. After the hike, we have the possibility of organizing a cooking class, using the herbs of Provence at the Madonna Inn in Peillon, a Michelin-starred restaurant.
It is possible to do a hike of either an easy or intermediate difficulty level. The walking time would be of about 2 or 4.30 hours, depending on the format chosen. If the cooking class followed by lunch is not held, it is possible to make a loop back to our starting point in Peille. In this case, you should add 2.30 hours more of walking time.
So if you want to join me on this hike and visit these two unique villages, send me a request. We will spend a great time in this beautiful area in Provence. If you are looking for more hiking tour options, you can check my profile page.

Nature is for me a fabulous field of investigation . Colors, scents, sounds are always present and reveal us so many sensations.
My hometown is Nice on the French Riviera and I explore my region from the Mediterranean shores to the highest peaks of the Mercantour National Park. In the summer time on foot, and in the winter with snowshoeing.
I am looking forward to guiding you in my region, sharing the vision of chamois, marmots and ibexes, on the tracks of wolves, and with a golden eagle in the sky.

Richard delivered exactly what I was hoping for. The choice of route suited me perfectly; he fitted in with my timelines which was important to me and the cherry on top was that he was a delight to walk with and chat to for 3 hours. If I was here a little longer, I’d do another one and definitely will when I come back. Thank you ☺️
