There you can find mountains as emblematic as mount Taljanka and Volusnica, but also the majestic Karanfili peaks and Vezirova Brada pass. It is surprisingly very quiet, still unknown despite its breathtaking landscapes. This is a place you should not miss if you are doing the Peaks of the Balkans trail. It is only a slight detour from the official route but it is really a must-see and something you will never forget!

From Doberdol we will continue climbing Gjeravica Peak- 2656m, the highest peak in Kosovo and the second-highest mountain peak in the Accursed Mountains range and the Dinaric Alps chain, after Maja Jezercë. Gjeravica is somewhat different from the rest of the Accursed mountains in its lack of the stony, limestone texture the other mountains in Accursed have. Many large and small glacial lakes can be found near the summit. The largest of the lakes is Gjeravica Lake, which is just under the summit and is the origin of the Erenik river. Gjeravica and Accursed are mostly known for the growth of chestnuts. Relaxed afternoon in Doberdol.

After a nice day-off in the valley of Doberdol, we will walk towards Milishevc, Kosovo.

The track follows a long impressive ridge marking the border with Albania. We’ll have to face a new challenge: the marks on this stage of Peaks of the Balkans are apparently not so reliable.

In the evening, we’ll enjoy a farewell celebration dinner together around the fire.

Mrika

Tour Operator

We are a company based in Peja, founded by father and daughter, Arianit Nikçi (lawyer and mountaineer from Peja) and Mrika Nikçi ( mountaineer, karate and ski competitor), who after acquiring considerable experience in the local mountains, the region and in the Alps, decided to jointly implement the MRIKA SEVEN SUMMITS project, the goal of which was to make Mrika the youngest female in the world to meet this challenge at the age of 17.

This project was completed in 15 months, climbing the six peaks – Vinson, Aconcagua, Everest, Denali, Elbrus and Carstesz Pyramide, in 8 months! In addition to Mrika accomplishing her goal, Mrika and Arianiti became the first Albanians to conquer the Seven Summits, and at the world level became the father and daughter duo who have climbed the Seven Summits in the shortest time.

The experience gained during our expeditions together with leading world-class guides and climbers has strengthened our confidence to establish a company through which we can provide professional services to clients who want to enjoy the beauties of Kosovo, Albania, Montenegro, and countries of the Balkans.

The strategy of the company is to experience and introduce wild areas, natural beauties rich in bush forests, rocky landscapes, mountains, canyons, rivers and caves, through hiking, cycling, wildlife, 4×4, snow tours, and other adventures.

We are also committed to presenting the best of the Balkan countries’ culture, nature, customs and cuisine, in collaboration with locals.

Our goal is to introduce responsible and sustainable tourism, always respecting clients, local communities, and nature.

What people are saying about Explore-Share

Man

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Maxine

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

Valeriya

You’re simply the best!!! :))) Explore-Share made everything easy and stress-free. Will definitely use again.

Joshua

We had Léo as a guide for our day climb in Fonty. We were blessed with a knowledgeable, warm, and instructive guide. Communication with Léo and Ivan was smooth and swift. Explore-Share was excellent in arranging everything for our day climb. The communication was quick, and the platform was easy to use, making our adventure stress-free.

Cami

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
